+200% sales from 10 WhatsApp messages: a Ramadan newsletter for pharmacists

International pharmaceutical company · gastrointestinal medicines · Kyrgyzstan · 2025–2026 · role: content strategist

+200%brand sales vs. the previous Ramadan
10WhatsApp messages
2 yearsin a row: 2025 and 2026

Challenge

Every year during Ramadan, the client's brand sales dropped. We needed to create a newsletter about gastrointestinal medicines for pharmacists and general practitioners in Kyrgyzstan and connect it to the Holy Month. A professional audience and a sensitive topic, health during fasting, so the tone had to be respectful and tactful, with no direct advertising.

Insight

On holidays, everyone in the CIS receives greeting cards on WhatsApp. If you fit into this familiar format, the message is read as a greeting, not an ad.

Solution

  • Format: 10 WhatsApp messages styled as holiday greeting cards.
  • Storyline: the Nuriev family, who spend the whole month asking their family doctor about diet, fatigue, pain and constipation during the fast.
  • Expertise: evidence-based answers from TELLER's medical editorial team.
  • Rhythm: the newsletter accompanied the audience throughout Ramadan, from the first days to greetings for Orozo Ait.

Results

  • +200% brand sales compared with the previous Ramadan, instead of the usual seasonal drop.
  • In 2026 the project was repeated and helped the brands hold their ground in a declining market.

Takeaway

Fit into a format your audience already expects at that moment. Then the brand's message is read as care, not advertising.
